Schifter Buys Neighbor Leland's Property for $4.5 Million

Richard and Jennifer Schifter purchased O.Stevens Leland's property located at 33 Pocha Rd. extension for $4.5 million yesterday 12/31/2012. The property is located directly behind the Schifter house at Wasque Point. Public records indicate the property consistis of 4.1 acres improved by a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 2190 sq.ft. house. The assessed value is $1,755,500. This sets up the obvious move of the massive Schifter house by the Spring. Since Leland has more land adjacent to the property that he sold his existing house will most likely be moved. I wonder if the price tag included this. The Schifters have been losing nearly 1 foot per day to the ocean. Look at the Google image taken in March vs. the image taken by the Martha's Vineyard Gazette just weeks ago. Most of the problems exist due to the breach at Norton's Point which took place in 2007. This should be interesting. Stay tuned for updates.
